Cara Schaefer

Cara Schaefer is a Washington, D.C.-based operatic mezzo-soprano, voice teacher, and the founder of Operagrams.

Cara has performed leading roles in productions of Carmen and Tale of Serse, among others, and has performed with a number of opera companies, including IN Series, the Maryland Lyric Opera Company, and Opera NOVA.

A graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of Music and a veteran of the Bel Canto in Tuscany program, Cara’s performances have earned the praise of audiences and reviewers alike.

In addition to her performance work, Cara serves as the executive director for Bel Canto in Tuscany and Cantate.
